Hi!
I’m Allison Wrightson.
My Human Design story:
When my oldest daughter Emma was in 3rd grade, her elementary school teacher and principal called my husband and I into their office on 3 separate occasions that year. They kept telling us that Emma had ADHD and needs to be put on medication. I don’t have anything against medicine. My body, my mama bear radar was saying something else. I needed to explore ALL avenues. So that’s exactly what I did. At that time, a friend introduced me to Human Design. I asked her to run Emma’s chart. We dove into understanding “how” Emma is designed to move through this world. Emma is a Generator - she’s the energizer bunny. She wakes up with a full tank of energy every morning. She needs to run her tank empty in order to rest properly at night and feel right. During her 3rd grade year, there were a lot of rain and snow storms. Because of that they had to spend recess in the classroom and hardly went outside to play. Emma was mainly in a classroom all day. She was like a ball in a pinball machine and was bouncing off the walls. So much energy and no where to release it! It was coming across as ADHD. She wasn’t getting rid of all that energy during the day. (I did get Emma tested for ADHD and the Doctor said she did not have it.) When I learned this about Emma and how she needed to move her body throughout the day, I started to teach her how to handle this. When she got home from school I just let her play, to move her body and let her release this pent up energy naturally, instead of doing homework right away. We moved that to later in the day. Emma is now 20 years old. She will say to me, “Mom my legs feel antsy, I need to go for a long walk!” She knows, recognizing that she needs to get rid of that energy to make herself feel better. I love how she knows how to manage her own energy now. I’m so grateful that Human Design came to me when it did! Human Design taught me about myself and to “trust my body.” We are all here to discover that the MIND is a beautiful tool, BUT it is NOT here to run the life. Human Design gives us the map to explore HOW we are uniquely designed to experience life. It’s a ticket to a wonderful experiment - one that teaches us to trust ourselves.
